Foto Set of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab

Photo of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the 23-year-old Nigerian who authorities say tried to bring down Flight 253, a Delta Airlines jetflight from Amsterdam to Detroit.

After graduating from college in London, Abdulmutallab moved first to Egypt and then Dubai, where he studied for an MBA before dropping out. It is believed that he ultimately found his way to Yemen, where, authorities think, he learned to make the device he attempted to use to blow up the Delta plane.

Father Alhaji Umar Mutallab, 70, is the retired chairman of Nigeria's oldest bank, First Bank. In October of 2009, he called the American embassy in Lagos to advise them of his concerns about his son, who, he says, had developed radical views and had disappeared, possibly to Yemen.

Foto Set of Coolest Bookcases

One of the great things about eBooks is that you don't need to figure out where to put them. But, sometimes, one of the best things about physical books is figuring out creative and interesting ways to store them. The bookcases that follow are amazing, artistic, and innovative, as well as being great places to keep your books.

Foto Set of Critters Up Close

Foto Set collection of Critters up close. Small thing made to look big.

Coccinellidae (Lady Bug) - The latin name for the lady bug - Coccinellidae - literally means 'little red sphere'. However, these little beauties can also be red, pink, yellow and even black!

Wet Dog's Nose - Ever wondered why your dog's nose is nearly always wet? Well, it's because that's how man's best friend sweats. They literally perspire through their noses, tongues and paws.

Gecko Eye - These little critters are the only reptiles that can use their voices to make all manner of noises, from barking to chirping. Other lizards can only hiss.

Maevia Inclemens (Jumping Spider) - Jumping spiders like this one could give even the best Olympic long-jumpers a run for their money. Jumping over 40 times its own length makes for an impressive (and possibly scary) sight!

Solenopsis (Red Ant) - These irritating little tykes first came to the US in the 1930s in soil that was being used as ballast for a ship.

Helix Aspera (Garden Snail) - Snails have a reputation for being slow for good reason: it takes these slimy beasts over three minutes to move just two feet.

Felis Catus (Cat) - Oh, to be a cat! If you've ever thought your cat was a lazy bones, you'd be right. They tend to sleep between 12 and 14 hours per day. What a life.

Eptesicus Fuscus (Brown Bat) - Of all the species of bat this one is reportedly the fastest. At over 40 miles per hour, Eptesicus fuscus is one snappy animal.

Holcocephala Fusca (Robber Fly) - These eyes may look huge, but the Robber fly measures in at a diminutive 5 - 7 mm.

Naked Joanna Krupa in PETA Photo

"Dancing With The Stars" contestant and playboy model Joanna Krupa has found herself at the center of controversy with the launch of a new PETA campaign. Krupa is seen posing with nothing but a halo and carefully placed crucifix to promote pet adoption. Catholic critics have not received the ad well.

Victoria's Secret fashion show

Heidi Klum and her post-baby body led the parade at the annual Victoria's Secret fashion show, which returned to New York with some fresh faces after four years on the road. The lingerie retailer inducted five more women into its "Angel" ranks - a designation reserved for top models at the Lexington Avenue Armory. This year show brought together balloons, lace, fake fur, thigh high boots...oh, and a $3 million, diamond-encrusted bra.
